As a massage therapist, I spend hours and hours of each day in literal silence. I have a lot of time to think. Every now and then I have a clever idea or a thought that I'd like to open up to other perspectives. I'd like to share them with all of you to see what you think, to get your insight and hopefully to have you tell me that I'm uber-smart!
While it makes sense to blog about health issues, massage therapy in particular, that can get pretty boring. Let's face it, there is stuff out there all over the internet about how to be or get healthy. For every one "expert opinion" you can find another "expert" with the opposite opinion. I'll tell you about massage therapy, sure, because I'm sure there is stuff that you don't know that would be good for you to learn... stuff I'm so used to knowing that I assume it's common knowledge. I'd like to think my blog will educate its readers about massage therapy and that it will promote a healthy lifestyle. That's what you already expect though... and if you know me, you know I like to surprise you once in a while. BAM! Just like that!
Being in business for myself has been quite an experience. (This isn't my first time around the block.) Entrepreneurship is an amazing and wonderful thing. I'll be posting my business progress and ideas as well. I'll tell you about other small business owners who I network with who I'm inspired by and would like you to know. I might even ask YOU GUYS what YOU think would be a good idea for my business. It's my hope that I might encourage a business owner who is down or that I might inspire someone to go into business for themselves.
I'm a very happy resident of The Old Market in Omaha. I really enjoy living in this delightful neighborhood and I'm sure I'll write about that once in a while too. Places to go, things to do, correcting misconceptions and maybe even inviting you to join me on my porch some night this summer for a glass of wine and some people watching.
I might just share some personal or "here's my day" posts too. You guys can tell me what you like. I just wanted to say "hi" and introduce you to my blog. I hope to see you and your comments here frequently.
With Affection, Becky
